The most unique jewelry ever!

Your own flowers painstakingly crushed, formed and preserved into perfection, and designed to wear in stunning fashion jewelry. Roses from a wedding, engagement, anniversary, birthday, retirement or any sentimental occasion, can be created into a beautiful necklace, earrings or even a bookmark to keep that memory near and dear to you, or given as a special heartfelt gift.

All beads are mixed and rolled by hand which insures they are truly one of a kind piece. The chains and caps are sterling silver. The crystals are made by Swarovski Crystal Works of Watten, Austria.

Yvonne's jewelry designs are influenced by her travel abroad for seven years. She lived in England, Croatia, Lebanon, and Libya. She now makes her home in the Houston area while creating her unique jewelry.

How it started.

About ten years ago my sister and her husband owned a religious supply house. They began getting inquiries about rosary beads made from rose petals. They were told about an 80 year old nun in Chicago who had been making this type for many years. When contact was made they were told that because of her age she was actively searching for someone to share her technique with so that the tradition could be carried on. Now my sister’s business consists of making and supplying hand made rosaries and jewelry to a large customer base.

In 2001, interested in starting a business of my own, they shared with me the directions of how to make the beads and then taught me how to assemble the pieces. I add color pigments to my mixture to make a more colorful and beautiful bead.

Choosing your color.

Many of us have kept flowers as mementos from special occasions intending to do something special with them, but never got around to it. I frequently have been asked if I can use these to make beads. The answer is yes. I work with fresh flowers as well as dried flowers even those that have turned brown.

Every effort is made to provide the color of your choice. However, I do work under certain constraints. For example, changes to the original color naturally occur as I add the hardeners and fillers necessary to form a durable bead. As a result I must add pigments to the mixture to help match the colors requested as closely as possible. The only color bead I have never been able to produce is a white one.

You can base your color choice on the following criteria. If your flowers are dark brown or dark shades of red, you can choose any deep color. I can enhance or mask the color with such shades as deep reds, maroons, navy, dark green, brown, and turquoise to name a few.

If on the other hand, your flowers are light brown, white, or pastel shades your choices are greater in that you can choose any of the colors above as well as an almost unlimited range of pastels such as pink, light blue, yellow and lavenders.

How to care for your special jewelry

You have purchased a piece of jewelry made from your flowers that holds special meaning and memories for you. Extra care needs to be taken to keep it beautiful. Always, when not in use keep your jewelry in the pouch provided as this protects it from the air that causes silver to tarnish. If needed, use a silver polishing cloth to remove body oils. Your beads are porous and should never be allowed to become wet or soak in any liquid.

The best silver cleaner which I have found is Sunray, a non-acidic, all natural solution that is effective and very gentle.

What my customers say

A mother who lost her young son in an accident said the beauty of her necklace set helped her remember the wonderful times they shared.

A mother who lost her daughter bought pieces not only for herself but other members of her family said “...when I see them wearing their jewelry, I feel they are honoring the memory of her”.

Brides bought pieces for themselves and their bridesmaids.

A teacher who was impressed with my work got her son to surprise his wife with a necklace made from their wedding flowers for their 10th anniversary.

Comments like these as well as personally seeing tears of joy and deeply felt appreciation has truly made this a labor of love instead of just a business
